Wildfire Ahead
Accessibility
This service is engineered towards WCAG 2.2 level AA. Conformance has not been independently audited and no legal compliance claim is made.
What this statement covers
One statement covers all three surfaces of this service: this public website, the protected agency workspace, and the Wildfire Ahead mobile applications for the public and for agency field use. They share one target, one feedback route and one review date, because three near-identical documents would drift apart and a reader would have no way to tell which was current. Where a surface differs, the difference is in the limitations below rather than in a separate document.
Known limitations
- No independent accessibility audit has taken place, and no validation with disabled users has been completed.
- Screen-reader testing on real hardware (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack) is still outstanding.
- The optional map supports public points and polygons; every area remains described in text.
- Languages other than English and French are not supported yet.
- Every public page except the home page has a French address under /fr and arrives in French; the home page itself stays in English until its text is translated.
- The automatic checks differ by surface: the website and the agency workspace audit seven criteria on every rendered component in their test suites, while the mobile applications assert tap-target size and, on the public application, contrast and labelled targets. None of these replaces an audit.
- The protected agency workspace is fully bilingual, and its French has not yet been read by a reviewer independent of this project.
